When was homer born
Herodotus, the ancient historian, who lived from BC to BC, placed Homer's year of birth four centuries before his own, making it around BC. Then again, some modern scholars believe that Homer lived in the twelfth century B. Likewise, did Homer actually exist? The painting glorifies all the antiquated theories that held that Homer was a blind, illiterate genius poet who singlehandedly created two of the greatest stories in human history, the Odyssey and the Iliad.
As appealing as that portrayal may be, it's most likely not true. For him to have been 35—40 years old at this time seems the most reasonable to me. This would place Odysseus' age at 45—50 when he actually returns to Ithaca 10 years later.

It explains how the Greek and Trojan warriors gain strength from their Gods and make sacrifices in their name. Although the Iliad focuses only on the last year of the war, it is an exceptionally lengthy account of the warfare.
Odyssey is based on a Greek character Odysseus. This epic poem focuses on the ten year long journey Odysseus made from Troy to Ithaca after the end of the Trojan War. The events leading to the start and conclusion of the war are explained in detail. The poetic story illustrates the dangerous adventures of Odysseus on his journey back home and also the ordeals his family goes through in Ithaca in his absence.
