However, any commercial reproduction of anything appearing within this site is both illegal and in really bad taste and we will take action Teen, 14 years old Written by LukeCon December 12, Singer and McQuarrie's mature but amazingly crafted storyline Once the mystery becomes clear, The Usual Suspects will deliver a wallop of an experience.

Its story is cleverly handled by Christopher McQuarrie's skilled hand at crafting the story--McQuarrie offers the perfect craft which brings together the storyline of The Usual Suspects. His skill at writing is what creates the well-crafted writing that The Usual Suspects occupies--his delivery of the storyline is crafted in such a fashion, that the ways in which McQuarrie crafts the story is what brings The Usual Suspects the nice touch the story and twist has.

What makes The Usual Suspects the clever story it offers is that McQuarrie, when creating the characters which occupy the world of The Usual Suspects, decides to trick the audience--ever so cleverly. McQuarrie fools us purposefully by adding certain touches to the story which distort our perspective of a certain situation. However, once he reveals the twist, we know deep down that we never saw it coming--and that is because of the brilliance of McQuarrie's writing.

And, yes, the cast of The Usual Suspects certainly shines--Kevin Spacey offers a soaring performance as his character--and through his soaring deliveries, makes us feel for his character through his performance. Spacey's acting movements create the nicely done performance skills Spacey occupies in The Usual Suspects. It becomes very clear that Spacey, along with the rest of the cast, are able to occupy their characters effectively through their performance skills--which plays a key factor in The Usual Suspects.

However, I can't stress enough that The Usual Suspects is certainly not intended for young audiences--due to the mature content. The story handles subject matter and also very iffy content which makes The Usual Suspects an excellent pick for mature audiences--however, The Usual Suspects still provides you with a well-crafted storyline, weaved together by Singer and McQuarrie--and this is what brings the final touch to The Usual Suspects.

However, this film contains mature language and violence. The messages of the film aren't necessarily positive, and deal with a theme of criminal deception. Characters are negative role models and are involved with criminal acts.

Even some of the cops have corrupt motives, as displayed in the film. Violence is fairly prominent in the film, and can be graphic at times. Gasoline is poured in a police car and it is set on fire, resulting in some minor injuries in the scene. An intense flashback scene involves brief but visible moments of a rape and the murder of a mother and her children--this may be very intense for some viewers.

A briefly visible and stylized depiction of a rape--no nudity is shown, but rape is implied in the scene. A couple sexual references occur in the film. Otherwise, the strong language in the film was very unnecessary to include.

Characters smoke cigarettes frequently throughout the film--cigarette smoking is a particular habit of many of the characters. Characters light and smoke cigarettes in several scenes of the film. The central premise of the film centers on a drug deal which plays a pivotal role in the events of the film. Overall, aside from the mature content, The Usual Suspects provides an amazingly clever script by McQuarrie, which is effective in weaving together and creating the storyline and characters which occupy The Usual Suspects.

McQuarrie shows his skill at writing through the well-crafted storyline which he weaves together in The Usual Suspects. McQuarrie also fools us the audience into having a particular perspective of a situation--then, he reveals to us the shocking twist which unfolds--and we then realize the depths of McQuarrie's writing--how he has expertly crafted such a storyline--that we didn't even see the twist coming. Not only that, Spacey and the cast provide us with some excellent portrayals of their characters by delivering their performances with such delivery and acting movement--that we can't help but applaud their performance skills which are displayed throughout The Usual Suspects.

Because not only does Spacey have the performance skills, so does Palminteri, Baldwin, and the others. Therefore, we get a mature but wonderfully crafted story of criminal deception which provides us with some well-done performances by the cast themselves. Simply put, The Usual Suspects is one of the best thrillers you will ever see.

I give The Usual Suspects 5 out of 5 stars, and recommend it to mature teens 16 and up. Teen, 15 years old Written by safcr7 September 11, Amazing crime-mystery with well-drawn characters, spot-on acting, and mind-blowing plot twists. This is a brilliant film, with an infamous character, smart script and amazing acting. A must-see for everyone above the age of 15 or 16, because of LOTS of profanity, especially the F-word and cksr.

There is also a lot of violence, but blood is not shown a lot. Teen, 13 years old Written by Conker22 September 5, Movie review by Charles Cassady Jr.
