In this scene Tybalt seeks Romeo because he is mad at Romeo for being at the party at the Capulet house, and wants revenge. In the play, this is the only reason but in the movie, Tybalt is mad at Romeo because he knows Juliet is falling for him. Mercutio and Benvolio trade insults with Tybalt. Romeo arrives, but refuses to quarrel with Tybalt who is now his cousin by his secret marriage to Juliet. Mercutio is willing to fight, but is killed by Tybalt as Romeo tries to intervene.

Romeo, enraged, pursues and kills Tybalt. Prince Escalus banishes Romeo. Tybalt kills mercutio and rome kills Tybalt. Romeo kills Tybalt. All of his misfortune and Juliet's spring from this one action.

All of these are bad things. They die in Act 3 scene 1. They were in the court yard sword-fighting and mercutio gets stabbed by Tybalt and Romeo kills Tybalt.

Juliet does not know about all of those things we just saw happen in Act 3 Scene 1: the fight between Tybalt and Mercutio, the fight between Tybalt and Romeo, Tybalt's death, and Romeo's banishment.

Tybalt is also being instructive in this quotation, telling Romeo that he must 'turn and draw. Loyal As Romeo has gate-crashed the Capulet party, Tybalt believes that he is dishonouring the family name. Despite Tybalt's nature, he is loyal to his Uncle and obeys.

The fact that Tybalt says it is a 'shame' illustrates that Tybalt doesn't agree with Lord Capulet, however, because he is loyal towards his family, he will obey.

Tybalt is argumentative when he speaks to any of the Montague family. This shows Tybalt's anger towards Romeo. Baz Luhrman suggests this in his film version.
